JOAN GRACE ROCCO
JULY 02, 1932 - JANUARY 09, 2022
Joan was born on July 2, 1932, in a small town called Ellwood City in Pennsylvania. Her parents were Mike Rocco and Angel Tuccinardi. When the family was living at 912 South Second Street in Ellwood City they had two children, Gloria and Joan, then they bought their first home at 619 Park Avenue also in Ellwood City. This was when they had their third daughter, Joyce. A fourth daughter, Patricia was born in October, 1946, but she passed away January 1947. This was very hard on Angela and when the family moved to California in 1948 Angela felt that she left her baby in Ellwood so they had to move back home, renting an apartment from Mikes’ brother Nick. Joan had a quiet childhood and enjoyed her acrobatics. The family again moved to California in the summer of 1949 and Joan started her career working for Security First National Bank after graduating from High School in 1950. This bank eventually changed their name to Security Pacific National Bank, working her way thru from a machine bookkeeper then went to the Safe Deposit position, then to a commercial teller eventually to a note department teller. Joan married Bud Lambert in 1954 and quit the bank to have her first four children, Lynne, Debbie Nancy and Laurie. Another sister, Donna Lee was born in California in 1954. Joan returned working for the bank at Crenshaw and Artesia, as a machine bookkeeper. This was a new branch and was growing faster than the staff, but she survived and again worked her way up to a note department teller. In 1969 Joan married for a 2nd time to Michael “Stormy” Mahon. It was at this point she transferred to the Lawndale branch and was working part time so she could take her two youngest children, Dana and Michael to work at the studio. Sadly Joan lost her leg in 1991 and was forced to retire, but first had gained the position of Assistant Manager.

Don't grieve for me; for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks undone must stay that way I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now, He set me free.
